Different hardware paths
A Muse Home Link
alternative?
Muse Home Link's initial offer was limited to 5,000 units, for US subscribers, with one free device per person. If that offer does not fit your situation, the open-source SDK provides a DIY path.
| Path | Access & cost | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Muse Home Link | Initial 5,000-unit offer; US subscribers; one per person | See Muse's site for availability and eligibility |
| ESP32-C5 DevKitC-1 DIY | Source your own board and SDK token | Status light and button; upstream local build workflow |
| Pocket Gadget | $79 preorder + $15 tracked shipping | M5StickS3 pocket screen; add your own token after receipt; Beta browser setup pending firmware |
Choose by the hardware you need
The C5 board is the simplest starting point listed by the SDK. StickS3 adds a screen interface, push-to-talk, menus and image support. These are different form factors, so do not assume they reproduce every Home Link function.
Check token eligibility first
Buying independent hardware does not grant Muse access, a subscription or an SDK token. The SDK token terms limit use to personal, non-commercial projects, prohibit token sharing and limit each token to 50 devices. We do not provide or manage tokens.
Built around the open-source Muse Gadget SDK, licensed under Apache-2.0. Muse account access and your own SDK token are required. Read the SDK terms before use.
